Rising Star Jullie-Ann Schuster Wins NSSU U/19 Sprint Titles and Scholarship

Rising Star Jullie-Ann Schuster Wins NSSU U/19 Sprint Titles and Scholarship. Hard work and perseverance are paying off for Jullie-Ann Schuster, the newly crowned NSSU U/19 100m and 200m champion. The talented Grade 11 sprinter has been awarded a N$20,000 scholarship in recognition of her outstanding performances on the track.

Jullie-Ann’s journey in athletics has been defined by resilience. Despite facing financial hardships, she has remained committed to both her studies and training, balancing the demands of academics with intense preparation for competitions. Her love for running was evident from a young age, with her mother, Binah Schuster, recalling a childhood moment when Jullie-Ann outran a cow on their family farm—an early glimpse of her incredible speed.

By the age of six, she had already made a mark by winning the Junior Victor Ludorum title at Origo Primary School. Since then, she has continued to push boundaries, now setting her sights on becoming one of Namibia’s top athletes.

Receiving the Frank Fredericks Foundation scholarship has been a transformative moment for Jullie-Ann and her family. The financial assistance will help cover her education and athletic expenses, easing the burden on her household. “This scholarship is an amazing blessing. I will use it to the best of my ability for my future,” she said.

Her mother expressed deep gratitude, noting how the support allows Jullie-Ann to focus on her dream without financial constraints. “For years, we did it on our own. This lifts a great burden and gives Jullie-Ann a real chance to excel.”
