Region 5 Youth Games Committee Reviews Namibia 2025 Edition and Future Improvements. The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the Region 5 Youth Games is currently holding a joint review session to present the final report and assessment of the games hosted in Namibia from 4–13 July 2025. The meeting brings together members of the LOC and the Regional Organising Committee (ROC) to evaluate the overall performance of the event and identify key lessons for future editions.
Presentations are being delivered by LOC Heads of Subcommittees, covering several post-games focus areas. These include budget updates and outstanding payments for service providers, asset disposal plans, and cluster Heads’ reports detailing operations across logistics, sports coordination, medical support, and volunteer management. The session also includes updates on post-games activities conducted between August and October 2025.
The comprehensive review aims to assess the efficiency of planning, delivery, and legacy outcomes from the Namibia-hosted edition of the games. Discussions will also address how hosting the event impacted local communities, youth participation, and cross-border sporting collaboration within the Southern African region.
This joint ROC–LOC management briefing provides a platform to document achievements, highlight operational challenges, and develop actionable recommendations to strengthen the management of future Region 5 Youth Games.
The 2025 Games marked another milestone for the Region 5 initiative, which continues to serve as a key platform for nurturing young athletic talent and promoting regional unity through sport. The final report from this session will inform the planning of upcoming editions, ensuring continuous improvement and sustainability in the delivery of youth sporting events across member states.
