President Nandi-Ndaitwah and O&L Group Discuss Public-Private Cooperation for National Development. President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah recently welcomed a courtesy visit from the executive leadership of the Ohlthaver & List (O&L) Group, led by Executive Chairman Sven Thieme, underscoring the importance of collaboration between Government and the private sector in achieving Namibia’s development goals.

During the meeting, President Nandi-Ndaitwah highlighted the critical role that public-private partnerships play in driving social and economic progress. She noted that sustainable national development requires close cooperation, shared responsibility, and mutual commitment from both sectors.

“The Government alone cannot fulfil the national agenda,” the President stated. “It is through strong partnerships with the private sector that we can effectively address the country’s socio-economic challenges and build an inclusive economy that benefits all Namibians.”

In response, Mr. Thieme expressed appreciation for the President’s vision and leadership, saying it inspires business confidence and supports long-term investment. He reaffirmed O&L’s commitment to supporting the national development agenda and pledged continued collaboration with Government for the common good of the country.

“We are fully aligned with the direction in which the President is leading the country,” Thieme said. “As a Namibian company, we believe it is our duty to contribute meaningfully to national growth and prosperity.”

The O&L Group is one of Namibia’s largest and oldest private sector enterprises, with diverse interests across food production, retail, property development, and logistics. The Group has long advocated for responsible business practices and community investment.

The meeting reflects a broader recognition that inclusive development is best achieved through joint action, where both Government and business leaders align their efforts toward shared national objectives.
