Pandora Pre-Primary Celebrates Milestone with Tree Planting Ceremony Honouring Dr. Steenkamp

Pandora Pre-Primary Celebrates Milestone with Tree Planting Ceremony Honouring Dr. Steenkamp. Pandora Pre-Primary School in Windhoek marked a momentous occasion this Friday with a heartfelt tree planting ceremony honouring the Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture, Hon. Dr. Sanet L. Steenkamp.

The event celebrated not only Dr. Steenkamp’s remarkable contributions to Namibia’s education sector but also the school’s recent approval to expand its offerings to include Grade 1. The ceremony, attended by staff, learners, and parents, reflected the school’s deep appreciation for Dr. Steenkamp’s leadership in advancing early childhood and primary education across the country.

School principal Mrs. Margaret Smith described the moment as symbolic of both gratitude and growth. “The Baobab tree was chosen to represent Dr. Steenkamp’s enduring impact — a source of strength, wisdom, and nourishment for generations to come,” she said during the ceremony. “This tree is dedicated to Hon. Dr. Sanet L. Steenkamp for her visionary leadership, outstanding service, and dedication to education.”

Founded in 2011, Pandora Pre-Primary School has become a model centre for Early Childhood Development (ECD) in Namibia, providing hands-on experience for students from teacher training institutions. Its recent approval by the Ministry of Education to operate as a Junior Primary School marks a new chapter of growth and opportunity.

The Baobab tree now standing proudly on the school grounds will serve as a living reminder of the institution’s commitment to nurturing learners and contributing to the broader education landscape.
