NTA and NUST Explore Closer Cooperation on Skills, Research and TTechnology. The Namibia Training Authority (NTA) and the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) have explored opportunities to strengthen cooperation in skills development, research and emerging technology.

The discussions took place on 15 September 2026 during a courtesy visit and strategic engagement by a NUST delegation led by Vice-Chancellor Professor Frednard Gideon. The delegation was received by NTA CEO Erick Fundula Nenghwanya and his team.

The engagement focused on how vocational training and higher education can combine their respective strengths to support Namibia’s technical skills requirements as the economy changes.

Areas discussed included research, capacity building, trainer development, technical and vocational education and training (TVET) standards development, continuous professional development and the co-design of programmes responding to skills and industry needs.

The institutions also discussed the relationship between TVET and higher education, with the engagement highlighting the potential for their mandates to complement each other through the sharing of expertise and resources.
