Namibia Chosen to Host African Digital Health Network Headquarters. Namibia has been officially nominated and selected to host the headquarters of the African Digital Health Network, marking a significant development for the country’s health and technology sectors.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Health and Social Services, Dr Esperance Luvindao, during the launch of the National Digital Health Policy on Friday. She described the decision as a major milestone that signals increasing confidence in Namibia’s role in advancing digital health initiatives on the African continent.
According to the minister, the selection reflects Namibia’s ongoing efforts to strengthen technology-driven healthcare systems and promote innovation within the health sector. Hosting the headquarters places the country at the centre of continental discussions and coordination around digital health development.
The African Digital Health Network focuses on fostering collaboration among African countries in the use of digital technologies to improve healthcare delivery, information management, and system efficiency.
