Melisa Poulton Makes History for Namibia at Paris Fashion Week.Namibian designer Melisa Poulton made a dazzling mark at Paris Fashion Week 2025, becoming the first Namibian creative to showcase her collection on one of the world’s most prestigious runways. Supported by O&L Leisure, Poulton’s appearance highlighted Namibia’s growing presence on the global fashion scene and celebrated the country’s creative spirit.
Poulton, the Creative Director and Founder of House of Poulton, presented her collection titled “La Dolce Vita” — a tribute to Namibian luxury and resilience. The line featured citrus-inspired tones and intricate hand-beaded designs, blending elegance with cultural depth. “This collection is my love letter to beauty, joy, and softness. It tells the story of Namibia on a Parisian stage,” she said, dedicating her showcase to her late father, Herald Poulton, one of the brand’s founders.
From her debut at Windhoek’s Warehouse Theatre in 2011 to the establishment of her boutique in Windhoek West, Poulton has steadily built House of Poulton into a luxury brand synonymous with artistic storytelling and craftsmanship. Her Paris debut not only marked a personal milestone but also positioned Namibian design talent on the world map.
O&L Leisure, part of the Ohlthaver & List Group, played a pivotal role in supporting Poulton’s journey. The company sponsored her trip to Paris and curated bespoke gift bags that invited attendees to explore Namibia through its renowned hospitality.
“Supporting Melisa’s debut was about showcasing the extraordinary creativity that thrives in Namibia,” said Maryke van Lill, Marketing General Manager at O&L Leisure. “Her work mirrors the natural beauty and cultural richness we share with our guests every day.”
This collaboration underscores Brand Namibia’s mission to elevate the nation’s creative industries while promoting its tourism and cultural identity on a global platform.
