FNB Namibia and Namene Deliver Solar Power to Off-Grid Schools Across 12 Towns. In a move to improve access to energy and educational resources in remote areas, FNB Namibia has partnered with Namene to distribute clean, solar-powered solutions to off-grid communities across the country.

The initiative has seen the donation of over 800 solar lights, 400 power banks, and 150 phone chargers to 20 schools in 12 towns. These tools are aimed at addressing a persistent challenge in Namibia’s rural communities, limited or no access to electricity, which affects students’ ability to study after dark and families’ ability to stay connected.

The solar kits not only benefit learners in their academic pursuits but also serve entire households, reducing reliance on costly or hazardous energy sources like candles or paraffin. The addition of power banks and phone chargers further enhances connectivity and safety for families living off-grid.
