Five Suspects Arrested in Connection with Series of Armed Robberies and Murder in Windhoek

Five Suspects Arrested in Connection with Series of Armed Robberies and Murder in Windhoek. The Namibian Police Force (NamPol), in collaboration with the Windhoek City Police, has apprehended five individuals believed to be linked to a string of violent crimes in the capital, including the recent high-profile case involving the alleged murder of Fiina Nghifikwa.

The arrests were made on Tuesday following coordinated operations between the two law enforcement agencies. In an official statement released the same day, NamPol confirmed that the suspects had been on the police’s wanted list in connection with a series of armed robberies and murders committed across various parts of Windhoek from April to July this year.

While details surrounding the circumstances of the arrests and evidence collected remain limited, authorities stated that the arrests followed extensive investigations and intelligence-led policing.

“The suspects are believed to have played roles in multiple violent incidents and have now been taken into custody to face due legal processes,” NamPol said in the statement.

The suspects are expected to appear in the Katutura Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, where they will be formally charged. Police have indicated that further investigations are ongoing and additional charges may be added as new information emerges.

The apprehension of these individuals has been welcomed by residents and community leaders who have expressed growing concern over recent spikes in violent crime in Windhoek.
