Discover Airlines Expands Munich–Windhoek Service to Five Weekly FFlights. Namibia’s air connectivity with Europe is set to strengthen as Discover Airlines, the Lufthansa Group’s leisure carrier, announced an expansion of its Munich–Windhoek service. Beginning in April 2027, the airline will increase flights from three to five per week, adding new Monday and Thursday frequencies to its year‑round schedule.

The move will bring the total number of weekly Lufthansa Group flights to Windhoek from Frankfurt and Munich to 12, reinforcing Namibia’s position as a growing destination for European travellers. The expansion reflects the airline’s confidence in demand for leisure travel between Germany and Namibia, while offering passengers greater flexibility and choice.

Discover Airlines currently operates three weekly flights on the Munich–Windhoek route. The addition of two more services will provide improved access for tourists and business travellers alike, while also supporting Namibia’s tourism sector and broader economic activity.

The announcement comes as Namibia continues to attract international visitors with its diverse landscapes, wildlife, and cultural experiences. Enhanced connectivity is expected to make travel more convenient for European markets, particularly Germany, which remains one of Namibia’s key tourism source countries.

The expanded schedule also strengthens the Lufthansa Group’s footprint in southern Africa, complementing its existing Frankfurt–Windhoek services. With 12 weekly flights in total, Namibia will benefit from increased inbound capacity and outbound travel options for Namibians heading to Europe.

Discover Airlines noted that the decision to expand services underscores its commitment to supporting destinations with strong tourism potential.
