The match remained finely balanced throughout, with both sides positioned to take the championship until the final ball. Wanderers, who had posted 142 for eight, put up a determined defence, but WHS Old Boys held their nerve to secure the trophy.
The standout performance of the final came from Adriaan Coetzee, who was named Player of the Match. Opening the batting for WHS Old Boys, Coetzee struck an impressive 76 runs off 54 balls, including six fours and four sixes. His contribution was instrumental in the successful chase. Earlier in the match, Coetzee demonstrated his all-round ability by taking 2/17 in four overs, dismissing Niko Davin caught behind and bowling Karl Birkenstock. He also executed a run-out that removed Danie van Schoor, rounding off a dominant display.
Wanderers’ innings was anchored by JC Balt, who recorded his second half-century in as many days, scoring 51 off 46 deliveries with seven boundaries. Their effort was further boosted by left-arm spinner Bernard Scholtz, whose remarkable figures of five wickets for 25 runs in four overs nearly swung the match in their favour.
Despite entering the knockout stages without a single win in the regular season, Wanderers delivered two strong performances in the playoffs, showcasing resilience and competitive spirit.
