The Burundian pair eventually secured the third set 6-3, completing the match in one hour and 42 minutes and giving the hosts the overall tie.

For the Van Schalkwyk brothers, the match featured a comeback after the opening-set setback, but they could not maintain that momentum through the deciding set.
