Gender Ministry Highlights Public Services at Africa Public Service DDay. Officials from Namibia’s Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare (MGECW) joined representatives from various government offices, ministries and agencies to commemorate Africa Public Service Day, an event recognising the contribution of public servants to national development.

The commemoration brought together public institutions to engage directly with members of the public and raise awareness of the services and programmes offered across government.

During the event, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare provided information on its initiatives aimed at promoting gender equality, protecting children, strengthening families and supporting vulnerable members of society.

According to the ministry, the event created an opportunity for officials to interact with visitors, respond to questions and increase public awareness of the services available through the department.

Africa Public Service Day is observed to recognise the role of public servants in delivering essential services while promoting effective governance and national development.

The event also encouraged collaboration among government institutions by providing a platform to showcase programmes and engage with communities on matters affecting service delivery.

MGECW’s participation formed part of broader efforts to ensure the public has access to information about government services and understands the support available through various ministries and agencies.

Officials from participating institutions used the occasion to share details about their respective mandates and explain how members of the public can access government programmes.
