MEIYSAC Hosts 16th Annual Sports Event in Outjo. The Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture (MEIYSAC) is set to host its 16th annual sports event from 18 to 23 May 2026 in Outjo, Kunene Region, bringing together staff members for a week of competition and camaraderie.
The event will showcase the athletic talent and team spirit of MEIYSAC staff through contests in soccer, netball, volleyball, and tug of war. Organizers say the program is designed to foster unity, wellness, and a sense of community among employees, while also celebrating the ministry’s commitment to sports and recreation.
The annual gathering has become a tradition within MEIYSAC, offering staff members an opportunity to engage outside of the workplace and strengthen bonds through friendly competition. Beyond the games, the event is expected to create an exciting atmosphere for spectators, with supporters encouraged to attend and cheer for their teams.
Entrance to the sports event is free of charge, making it accessible to the wider community in Outjo and surrounding areas. The ministry hopes the open invitation will encourage families, friends, and residents to join in the festivities and support the participants.
The 16th edition of the event underscores MEIYSAC’s broader mission of promoting sports and cultural activities as part of its mandate to enhance education, innovation, and youth development. By combining athletic competition with community engagement, the ministry continues to highlight the role of sports in fostering teamwork, discipline, and social cohesion.
