WorldSkills Namibia Participates in Global Planning Talks Ahead of Shanghai 2026

WorldSkills Namibia Participates in Global Planning Talks Ahead of Shanghai 2026. WorldSkills Namibia has confirmed its participation in Competition Preparation Week (CPW) currently taking place in Shanghai, China, as part of preparations for the upcoming WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 Competition.

Competition Preparation Week is a key international engagement that brings together Skill Management Teams, participating member countries, global partners, the competition organiser, and WorldSkills International. The gathering focuses on coordination, logistics, and advance planning to ensure the effective delivery of the global skills competition.

During the week, the WorldSkills Namibia delegation attended a series of structured meetings, including Skill Management sessions and Marketing and Communications discussions. These meetings focused on finalising plans related to competition delivery, operational readiness, and the promotion of the WorldSkills movement globally.

WorldSkills Namibia said participation in CPW is particularly important to ensure alignment across all preparation areas. These include technical requirements, operational planning, promotional activities, and cultural engagement linked to the competition.

In addition to the formal planning sessions, the Namibian team took part in OSOM (One School, One Member), a WorldSkills signature programme. The initiative pairs each participating country with a local school in the host nation. Through OSOM, member countries share aspects of their culture and skills while engaging students in discussions around Technical and Vocational Education and Training.

The programme is designed to inspire learners, promote skills development, and encourage cultural exchange between countries. WorldSkills Namibia said the engagements provided opportunities to interact with students, share insights, and build connections through skills-based learning and cultural exchange.

According to WorldSkills Namibia, each activity during Competition Preparation Week contributes to strengthening the country’s readiness and presentation ahead of WorldSkills Shanghai 2026. The organisation said its participation reflects Namibia’s continued commitment to skills development and international collaboration within the WorldSkills framework.
