Namibia Commissions New Heads of Mission. President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has officially commissioned Namibia’s newly appointed Heads of Mission during a ceremony held at State House in Windhoek. The event marked an important step in strengthening the country’s diplomatic presence and advancing its foreign policy priorities across key regions of the world.

Addressing the diplomats, the President reaffirmed that Namibia’s diplomacy is anchored in safeguarding national interests, enhancing bilateral and multilateral cooperation, promoting economic diplomacy, and contributing to peace and security both on the continent and internationally. She noted that the new envoys carry the responsibility of representing Namibia with consistency and purpose.

The President emphasised the need for integrity, humility and professionalism in all diplomatic engagements. She encouraged the diplomats to work toward attracting investment, supporting Namibia’s development agenda, and championing priorities outlined in NDP6. Strengthening relations with host nations and maintaining strong ties with Namibians living abroad were highlighted as critical aspects of their missions.

The newly commissioned Heads of Mission are:

  • Mr. Walde Natangwe Ndevashiya – Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Nigeria
  • Dr. Alfredo Tjiurimo Hengari – Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium
  • Mr. Goms Menette – High Commissioner to the Republic of Zambia
  • Ms. Ndiyakupi Nghituwamata – High Commissioner to the Republic of Ghana
  • Ms. Rosina //Hoabes – Ambassador to Japan
  • Mr. Weich Murcle Uapendura Mupya – Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt
  • Mr. David Thomas – Ambassador to the Republic of Zimbabwe

In her closing remarks, President Nandi-Ndaitwah urged the diplomats to raise Namibia’s profile on the global stage and ensure their efforts translate into meaningful development for the nation. She concluded with a clear message of duty and national service: “Go and serve the nation.”

The commissioning signals Namibia’s continued commitment to active and strategic international engagement.
