Namibia to Streamline Visa System to Boost Long-Term Investment. Namibia is moving to simplify its visa system to attract long-term investors and international visitors, President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah announced during the Namibia Public–Private Forum held in Windhoek.

The President revealed that the Ministry of Home Affairs will urgently review and streamline visa application procedures. A key proposal includes granting serious investors five-year visas, aimed at encouraging sustained economic engagement and facilitating long-term business operations in the country.

“The visa process must be simple and accessible,” Nandi-Ndaitwah stated. “We want investors and visitors to benefit from a special visa programme that supports long-term investment.”

Alongside visa reforms, the President outlined plans to improve Hosea Kutako International Airport, including the addition of more counters at arrivals to reduce congestion. She also confirmed that the long-delayed Migration Bill is expected to be enacted before the end of the financial year, which will provide a legal framework to support smoother entry, stay, and business operations for foreign investors and visitors.

These measures form part of a broader government strategy to enhance Namibia’s economic competitiveness and ease of doing business. By simplifying entry and offering extended visas, the government seeks to create a supportive environment that encourages foreign capital inflow and strengthens investor confidence.

Nandi-Ndaitwah emphasized that the vision is to make investment and business operations in Namibia seamless and efficient, ensuring that investors experience a one-stop system from arrival to business establishment.. The reforms are expected to bolster Namibia’s appeal as a destination for long-term investment, positioning the country as a competitive player in regional and international markets while supporting sustainable economic growth.
