City of Windhoek Concludes Pre-Stakeholders Engagement with Savings Groups

City of Windhoek Concludes Pre-Stakeholders Engagement with Savings Groups. The City of Windhoek has wrapped up its Pre-Stakeholders Engagement Meetings with Savings Groups, marking an important step in its ongoing consultations ahead of wider public participation sessions. The engagements have been held under the theme “Reflecting on the 2020–2025 Term: Strengthening Accountability, Engagement & Service Delivery.”

The initiative, led by Council, provided a platform to reflect on achievements and challenges over the current five-year term while laying the groundwork for future planning. Savings Groups were among the key stakeholders engaged, adding their voices to discussions around community development, service delivery, and the role of residents in shaping the city’s progress.

Over the past weeks, Council has consulted with a range of stakeholders, including Community Development and Neighbourhood Committees, political parties, churches, ratepayers associations, and the business sector. These engagements have been part of a broader effort to ensure inclusivity and accountability in decision-making.

The meetings also served as an opportunity for Council to strengthen relationships with community-based organizations and promote dialogue on issues affecting residents. Stakeholders were encouraged to share perspectives on service delivery, governance, and ways to improve citizen participation in city affairs.

Looking ahead, the City of Windhoek announced that it will launch public consultations starting next month. This process is aimed at ensuring that all residents, beyond the initial stakeholder groups, will have the chance to contribute ideas and recommendations for the city’s development priorities.

By engaging both formal organizations and community-driven groups, the City underscores its commitment to accountability and collaborative governance as it prepares to conclude its current term.
