Namibia’s Zenatha Coleman Announces Retirement After Stellar Career. Namibia’s star striker and national team captain, Zenatha Coleman, has confirmed that she will retire from football at the end of the 2024/2025 season, drawing the curtain on an illustrious 14-year professional career.

The 31-year-old has been a trailblazer for Namibian women’s football, representing her country across four different leagues in Europe and Africa. Her journey began at JS Academy in Namibia (2011–2015) before moving abroad, where she played for Gintra Universitetas in Lithuania (2016–2017). She later featured prominently in Spain with Zaragoza CFF (2018), Valencia CF Femenino (2018–2020), and Sevilla FC Femenino (2020–2022), before taking her talents to Turkey with Fenerbahçe SK Women (2022–2024) and Beylerbeyi Spor (2024–2025).

Coleman’s record speaks volumes about her impact on the game. She has scored over 200 club career goals, featured in the UEFA Women’s Champions League where she also found the back of the net, and earned three nominations for CAF Women’s Player of the Year. On the international stage, she retires as Namibia’s all-time top scorer with 30 goals in 43 appearances.

Reflecting on her decision, Coleman said: “A decision was made, sad and painful but I will be retiring from football next year.”

Her retirement marks the end of an era for Namibian football. Known for her prolific goal scoring and leadership, Coleman has been an inspiration for young girls in Namibia and across the continent who aspire to play at the highest level.

As she prepares for her final season, Coleman leaves behind a legacy of excellence, resilience, and national pride that will be remembered for generations.
