Windhoek to Host International Fire Safety Week This October. The Windhoek Fire Brigade Services will host International Fire Safety Week from 6–10 October 2025, inviting residents, schools, and businesses to participate in a week-long celebration of safety awareness, emergency readiness, and community resilience.
With the theme “Unite to Ignite for a Secure Nation,” the event promises an engaging and educational programme designed to promote fire prevention, safety preparedness, and collaboration between emergency services and the public.
Hosted at the Windhoek Fire Brigade Headquarters, the open week will include interactive exhibitions, school competitions, community outreach activities, and demonstrations from fire and emergency personnel. The initiative aims to make fire safety education more accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds.
Organisers have confirmed that a detailed programme will be released soon, with targeted sessions for schools, businesses, and communities. The goal is to empower residents with practical knowledge on how to prevent fires, respond to emergencies, and support each other during crisis situations.
“Fire safety is everyone’s responsibility. This week is not just about firefighting, it’s about education, preparedness, and building a safer society together,” said a representative from Windhoek Fire Brigade Services.
Local entrepreneurs and community organisations are also encouraged to participate by showcasing safety products, services, or community initiatives. For small businesses and service providers, the event offers a chance to network, build awareness, and support public safety efforts.
With fire incidents and climate-related emergencies on the rise globally, International Fire Safety Week arrives at a critical time, reminding citizens of the importance of readiness, prevention, and unity.
