City of Windhoek Hosts Community Dialogue Ahead of Council Term-End

City of Windhoek Hosts Community Dialogue Ahead of Council Term-End. The City of Windhoek continued its efforts to foster transparent and inclusive governance by hosting a Pre-Stakeholder Engagement Meeting with community leaders and residents from the Samora Machel and Khomasdal constituencies. Held as part of a broader consultation series, the session offered a platform for residents to voice their views, reflect on service delivery progress, and engage directly with city leadership.

The meeting comes as the current Council approaches the conclusion of its five-year term, prompting both reflection and dialogue on the municipality’s performance and future direction.

Councillor Maitjituavi Kavetu, who opened the session, emphasised the importance of community inclusion in governance. “Today is about accountability, collaboration, and transparency. Windhoek is moving forward, because of you, with you, and for you,” he stated.

Also present was Alderwoman Fransina Kahungu, who joined in listening to concerns and feedback from local Community Development and Neighbourhood Committees. These committees have played an active role throughout the Council’s term in linking residents with the City’s programs and policies.

Residents raised key issues related to service delivery, infrastructure, community safety, and local development priorities. City representatives took note of the feedback and committed to continued engagement and improvement.

The City of Windhoek extended appreciation to all attendees, particularly the community members and committee leaders who have remained actively involved throughout the Council’s term.
