Minister Ashipala-Musavyi Backs Trade Growth at Ehao Cultural Expo Gala. Namibia’s Minister of International Relations and Trade, Hon. Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, delivered the keynote address at the Ehao Cultural Expo Fundraising Gala Dinner held on Friday, May 2. The event, hosted in anticipation of the upcoming Ehao Cultural Expo 2025, focused on unlocking the intersection between cultural tourism and business development.

In her address, Minister Ashipala-Musavyi emphasized Namibia’s commitment to leveraging international trade frameworks such as the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to create new economic pathways for local businesses. She encouraged the business community in Okahao and surrounding regions to collaborate and take full advantage of the trade opportunities AfCFTA presents.

The gala, which serves as a fundraising event for the Ehao Cultural Expo taking place from June 20–28, 2025, drew a wide array of guests. Dignitaries included Omukwaniilwa gwoshitunda shaNgandjera Tatekulu Johannes Mupiya, local councillors, and prominent business figures such as Mr. Sheehama David of Kambwa Trading and Mr. Erastus “Chicco” Shapumba of the Chicco Group.

This year’s expo theme, “Unlocking Cultural Tourism and Business Potential,” reflects the region’s drive to blend heritage preservation with economic empowerment.
