FNB Namibia Supports Therapeutic Horse Programme with N$396,000 Donation

FNB Namibia Supports Therapeutic Horse Programme with N$396,000 Donation. FNB Namibia has reaffirmed its support for inclusive community development by donating N$396,000 to the Namibian Equestrian Federation (NAMEF) in support of its Therapeutic Horse Development Programme. The funding aims to strengthen ongoing efforts to improve the lives of children with special needs through equine-assisted therapy.

The programme, which has gained international recognition with the Inspire Award from the International Federation for Equestrian Sports, uses structured horse riding sessions to support the physical, cognitive, and emotional development of children from underprivileged backgrounds.

Animal-assisted therapy has been shown to offer numerous benefits, including improved mobility, enhanced communication skills, and boosted self-confidence. Through guided interactions with trained horses and professional instructors, children are encouraged to develop coordination, trust, and independence in a safe, nurturing environment.

The donation will go toward maintaining the programme’s infrastructure, training facilitators, and ensuring safe access to therapeutic sessions for participating children.
