Vivo Energy Namibia Engages Windhoek Mayor on Investment and Marathon Plans

Vivo Energy Namibia Engages Windhoek Mayor on Investment and Marathon Plans. A delegation from Vivo Energy Namibia, led by Managing Director Jaco van Rensburg, met with the Mayor of Windhoek, Cllr. Ndeshihafela Larandja, to discuss investment prospects and preparations for the upcoming Vivo Energy Windhoek Marathon.

A key topic of discussion was Vivo Energy Namibia’s application for a strategic investment project in Windhoek. Van Rensburg expressed the company’s interest in understanding the approval process and the necessary steps required to move the project forward efficiently.

The meeting also addressed final preparations for the Vivo Energy Windhoek Marathon, set to take place on May 24, 2025. Lazarus Nafidi, Corporate Communications Manager at Vivo Energy Namibia, announced that registration, which opened on February 21, will close on April 30, 2025. Notably, the participation limit has been increased from 3,000 to 45,000 runners, allowing for broader community involvement.

Providing an update on the investment proposal, Strategic Executive for Housing, Property Management, and Human Settlement, Faniel Maanda, confirmed that the matter will be discussed at the upcoming Council Meeting later this month. Following this, a public notice will be issued for any objections before seeking final approval from the relevant ministry.
