Pipe Burst Causes Water Outage in Khomasdal and Otjomuise

Pipe Burst Causes Water Outage in Khomasdal and Otjomuise. Residents of Khomasdal and Otjomuise experienced a water supply interruption today following a pipe burst on Visarend Street, according to a notice issued by municipal authorities.

The City of Windhoek reported that in response to the burst, the reservoir outlet servicing the affected areas had to be closed temporarily to prevent excessive water loss. This resulted in a widespread outage across the two suburbs.

City engineers acted swiftly by isolating the damaged section of the pipeline. Once isolated, the reservoir outlet was reopened to begin refilling the water network. While water restoration is underway, the City has cautioned that residents in elevated areas may face additional delays due to the time required for the system to regain full pressure.

Municipal repair teams are currently on-site attending to the situation. The City has assured the public that every effort is being made to restore normal water service as quickly as possible.
