Old Mutual Namibia Launches Financial Literacy Challenge for Students Across the Country. A new chapter in youth empowerment has begun as Old Mutual Namibia officially launches the On The Money (OTM) Financial Education Challenge for high school learners and students in higher education institutions across the country.
Targeting Grade 7–12 learners and students enrolled at NQA-registered institutions, the challenge aims to equip Namibia’s youth with critical financial literacy skills through free 2–3 hour face-to-face training sessions. The initiative, running from 1 April to 30 September 2025, is part of Old Mutual’s broader vision to foster financial independence and responsible money management in the next generation.
The program covers essential financial topics, including budgeting, saving, responsible spending, and planning for the future. By bringing these lessons into schools and campuses, Old Mutual seeks to make financial literacy both accessible and practical.
Incentives have also been added to encourage participation. The first 20 schools that train more than 200 students will receive a N$2,000 Waltons voucher—strictly for purchasing educational resources.
Educators and school representatives interested in participating are encouraged to make training appointments by contacting [email protected] or [email protected].
With financial literacy increasingly seen as a cornerstone of lifelong success, the OTM Challenge marks a timely and impactful intervention in preparing Namibia’s youth for a more informed and secure financial future.
