Nathan Chase Shines at RMB Off-Road Triathlon Amid Rising Young Talent. The annual RMB Off-Road Triathlon at Oanob Dam near Rehoboth tested endurance, skill, and determination this past Sunday, as Namibia’s emerging triathlon stars delivered impressive performances across all categories.

In the enduro distance, rising talent Nathan Chase claimed the overall men’s title, completing the 1.1 km swim, 28 km cycle, and 8.4 km run in one hour 55 minutes 13 seconds. The 17-year-old XTerra silver medallist demonstrated his growing dominance in off-road triathlon events. Veteran Mark Spath secured second place with a time of 2:21:08, while Jan-Louis Mostert crossed the line third in 2:32:53. Notably, there were no female entries for the enduro category.

The Sprint event, covering a 600 m swim, 14 km cycle, and 4.2 km run, saw Nathan’s younger brother, Micah Chase, take a commanding victory in 1:04:46. Close behind, Finn Middleton finished in 1:09:10, with James Langford just 40 seconds later, all competing in the boys U16 age group. The girls U16 category was dominated by Lillian Kibble, who won the female Sprint in 1:21:47. Veteran Ilona Sickel finished in 1:24:30, ahead of Kyra Marshall, who completed the course in 1:30:18.

In the Super Sprint—300 m swim, 5.7 km cycle, and 2.5 km run—the top male finishers were Tristan Buttner (40:44), Marcel Diehl (40:45), and Henry Muschler (42:14), all aged 15 or younger. The female Super Sprint podium featured Sofia Glen-Spyron (41:45; 15 and under), Jana Klinger (44:02; female open), and Nadine le Roux (48:02; 15 and under).

The RMB Off-Road Triathlon continues to provide a platform for young Namibian athletes to showcase their potential, blending challenging terrain with competitive spirit, and highlighting the next generation of endurance sports talent in the country.
