Namibian Manufacturer Acacia Composites Expands into Zimbabwe Through Halsted Builders Express Deal. Namibian building materials manufacturer Acacia Composites Manufacturers has secured a major cross-border partnership with Zimbabwe’s Halsted Builders Express, paving the way for its wood plastic composite (WPC) products to reach a new market within the Southern African region.
The agreement, announced earlier this week, will see Halsted Builders Express stock Acacia Composites’ full range of WPC decking, cladding, and battens across its 13 retail branches in Zimbabwe. The move marks an important milestone for Acacia Composites as it strengthens its footprint in the SADC region.
The partnership originated at the WoodEX for Africa industrial exhibition in Johannesburg earlier this year, where representatives from both companies first connected. Following the meeting, Halsted’s Chief Executive, Stuart Knight, visited Acacia’s manufacturing plant in Windhoek to assess product quality firsthand. Impressed by the facility and the craftsmanship, Knight moved swiftly to finalize the agreement.
The first shipment under the partnership includes Acacia’s high-quality WPC decking, which has gained recognition for its durability and sustainable composition. Business Manager Eike Bolm described the collaboration as “an exciting step in our SADC growth,” expressing pride in bringing Namibian-made WPC products to Zimbabwe through an established retail brand.
Knight emphasized that the partnership aligns with market demand. “WPC decking is exactly what our customers are asking for — durable, eco-conscious, and maintenance-free. Acacia Composites is ahead of the curve in this space,” he said.
Acacia Composites’ products are engineered to endure Africa’s toughest climates, combining modern design with environmental sustainability. The company’s expansion into Zimbabwe highlights growing regional cooperation within SADC’s construction and materials industry, strengthening trade links between southern African markets.
