Namibia Sports Commission Hosts Leadership Workshop for Federation Heads. On Saturday, the Namibia Sports Commission (NSC) organized a workshop in Windhoek, where over 90 leaders from various sports federations gathered to enhance their leadership skills.
The workshop, targeted at Presidents and Secretary Generals of sports federations, covered key areas such as improving sports development, promoting wider participation, refining management practices, and strengthening governance within federations.
This marks the beginning of a bi-annual series designed to encourage strong governance, further sports growth, and ensure compliance with regulations. The NSC shared that the workshop, attended by leaders from more than 90 federations, demonstrated a strong commitment to improving the governance and development of Namibian sports.
Topics covered during the sessions included the Namibia Sport Act, effective communication strategies, branding, and securing sponsorships. “These topics were specifically chosen to provide leaders with the knowledge and resources necessary to drive positive changes and support growth within their federations,” the NSC stated.
Freddy Mwiya, Chief Administrator of the NSC, emphasized the goal of fostering collaboration among leaders. “We aim to create an environment where leaders can learn from one another, collaborate, and address challenges together. This is part of our continuous commitment to advancing sports in Namibia.”
Mwiya further noted that the NSC’s focus on leadership development would have a lasting impact on the country’s sports landscape, helping to drive long-term success and growth.
