Namibia Showcases Trade Potential at China-Africa Economic Expo in Changsha. Namibia’s presence at the Fourth China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE), held from 12 to 15 June 2025, was marked by a high-level visit from the country’s Minister of International Relations and Trade, Honourable Selma Ashipala-Musavyi.
During her tour of the Namibian pavilion, Minister Ashipala-Musavyi engaged with exhibitors who were showcasing a diverse selection of products that reflect the country’s natural wealth and emerging industries. From value-added goods to raw resource exports, the Namibian displays captured the attention of international attendees and potential trade partners.
The Minister used the platform to encourage local exhibitors, emphasizing the importance of product quality, global competitiveness, and effective branding in reaching international markets. She also reiterated Namibia’s openness to foreign direct investment that supports industrial development and long-term economic sustainability.
The China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo is a strategic event aimed at strengthening economic cooperation between China and African nations. For Namibia, the Expo offers an opportunity to connect with Chinese businesses and other African counterparts to forge trade relationships, attract investment, and expand export opportunities.
Beyond product display, the Namibian delegation participated in various networking and partnership-building sessions, aligning with the broader goals of increasing intra-African trade and enhancing Africa-China economic ties.
