Namibia Qualifications Authority Launches Automated Evaluation System and National Policy for Standards

Namibia Qualifications Authority Launches Automated Evaluation System and National Policy for Standards. The Namibia Qualifications Authority (NQA) has officially launched two landmark initiatives: the Automation System for the Evaluation of Qualifications and the National Policy for Qualifications Standards, marking a significant step in modernising the country’s qualifications framework.

Delivering the keynote address at the launch, Hon. Dr Sanet L. Steenkamp, Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture, emphasized the importance of the new automated system. She noted that it will speed up the evaluation of qualifications, improve accuracy, strengthen data security, and allow applicants to track their applications in real time.

The introduction of the National Policy for Qualifications Standards further enhances transparency, consistency, and credibility in the evaluation and recognition of qualifications. By aligning Namibia’s qualifications system with both national and international standards, the policy ensures that the country’s education and training outcomes remain competitive and trusted globally.

Together, these initiatives reflect Namibia’s commitment to digital transformation and efficient public service delivery, while reinforcing the integrity of the national qualifications system. The automation system is expected to reduce administrative delays, while the policy provides a clear framework for institutions, employers, and learners to understand and trust the evaluation process.

The launch underscores the government’s dedication to innovation in education and the broader goal of strengthening Namibia’s human capital. By modernising the qualifications system, the NQA aims to support learners, professionals, and institutions in navigating an increasingly interconnected global education and employment landscape.

The initiatives highlight Namibia’s forward-looking approach to education reform, ensuring that qualifications are evaluated with speed, accuracy, and credibility, while promoting confidence in the country’s education system.
