Namibia Launches Innovation Challenge for Young TVET Trainees and Graduates. The Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture has announced the Namibia TVET Trainee & Graduate Innovation Challenge, an initiative aimed at empowering young innovators from public Vocational Training Centres (VTCs) across the country.
The challenge, organised in collaboration with the African Union, AUDA-NEPAD, Namibia Training Authority (NTA), and Skills Innovation Forum Africa (SIFA), invites TVET trainees and graduates aged between 18 and 35 to present innovative business ideas that demonstrate creativity, feasibility, and potential impact.
Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their projects, receive mentorship from industry experts, and gain guidance on turning their ideas into viable businesses. Successful applicants will also compete for the chance to represent Namibia at Africa Skills Week in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, taking place this October. This continental platform will allow young innovators to network with peers, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders from across Africa.
The initiative reflects Namibia’s ongoing commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among youth, particularly those equipped with technical and vocational skills. By linking TVET graduates to mentorship and international exposure, the programme aims to strengthen both individual career prospects and broader economic growth.
The Ministry encourages all eligible trainees and graduates from public VTCs to apply and take advantage of this platform to develop their skills, expand their networks, and showcase Namibia’s talent on a continental stage.
Applications are open immediately, and interested participants are advised to register through the Ministry or partner institutions to secure their place in the competition.
