Namibia Launches 21st Annual Sport Awards, Set for November in Ongwediva. The Namibia Sports Commission, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture, has officially launched the 21st edition of the Namibia Annual Sport Awards (NASA). This prestigious event celebrates the achievements of athletes, coaches, and sport stakeholders who have made notable contributions to Namibian sport.

Scheduled for 22 November 2025, the awards ceremony will be hosted in Ongwediva, marking the first return to the Oshana Region since 2019. The Ongwediva Town Council will serve as the official host, with preparations underway to welcome nominees, guests, and sporting delegates from across the country.

This year’s edition introduces a new feature: the Wall of Fame, which will pay tribute to three Namibian sports legends, acknowledging their legacy and contribution to the nation’s sporting history.

Nominations for the various categories will open from 25 July to 30 September 2025, with organisers confirming that no extensions will be granted. Categories include:

  • Sports Star of the Year
  • Junior Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year
  • Sportsman and Sportswoman with a Disability
  • Coach of the YearTeam of the Year
  • Lifetime Achievement
  • Media and Community Development Awards

The Namibia Sports Commission has called on sponsors, partners, and the public to actively support the event and celebrate the nation’s sporting excellence. The awards aim to recognise not only athletic performance but also the broader impact of sport on community development and national pride.
