Nakabolelwa Annual Tournament Wraps Up Third Edition in Zambezi Region. The third edition of the Nakabolelwa Annual Tournament, sponsored by SNC Incorporated, concluded last weekend at Kabula Sports Field in the Zambezi Region, drawing teams, officials and community members for three days of competitive sport.
The tournament featured both football and netball competitions, with nine teams participating in football and eight teams competing in netball. Matches were played over the course of the weekend, attracting steady spectator interest and strong local support.
Chonke FC emerged as the football champions after a series of competitive fixtures, while TT Stars claimed top honours in the netball category. Individual excellence was also recognised during the tournament. Walubita Walubita finished as the leading goal scorer in the football competition with 12 goals, while Winnie Mukena recorded 61 goals to secure the Best Shooter award in netball.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Defence Deputy Minister Charles Mubita, Justice Executive Director Audrin Mathe, City of Windhoek Management Committee Chairperson Austin Kwenani, Sports Commission Chief Administrator Freddy Mwiya and Botswana’s Chobe District Chairperson Johane Chenjekwa.
Speaking after the tournament, SNC Incorporated Managing Partner Shakwa Nyambe reflected on the growth of the event since its inception. He said the continued expansion of the Nakabolelwa Annual Tournament demonstrates increasing community involvement and local pride.
“We remain pleased to support initiatives that bring communities together and provide a platform for athletes to showcase and develop their talent,” Nyambe said.
SNC Incorporated also recognised the role of additional partners who contributed to the success of the tournament. These included Legacy Building and Civils, Richard Mutonga Ibwima, Tswelopelo Consulting and Investment, Evima Engineers, and Environmental and Town Planning Consultants.
The successful conclusion of the third edition further cements the Nakabolelwa Annual Tournament as a recurring sporting event within the Zambezi Region’s local sports calendar.
