Ministry Keeps September 2025 Fuel Prices Unchanged Despite Under-Recoveries. The Ministry of Mines and Energy has announced its September 2025 fuel price review, confirming that pump prices for petrol and both diesel variants will remain unchanged.
According to the Ministry, the latest review recorded under-recoveries of 11.53 cents per litre for petrol, 50.43 cents per litre for diesel 50ppm, and 42.20 cents per litre for diesel 10ppm. Despite these under-recoveries, the Ministry has resolved not to adjust pump prices, with the National Energy Fund absorbing the shortfall.
This means that in Walvis Bay, prices will remain at N$20.37 per litre for petrol, N$19.92 per litre for diesel 50ppm, and N$20.02 per litre for diesel 10ppm. Fuel prices across other regions of the country will continue to reflect the usual transport differentials.
In a statement, the Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring stability in the fuel market while balancing global price fluctuations with the need to safeguard consumer interests. “The Ministry remains committed to ensuring fuel price stability while balancing market realities and protecting consumer interests,” the statement read.
The decision to keep prices steady comes as international oil price movements and exchange rate volatility continue to place pressure on import-dependent economies. By covering under-recoveries through the National Energy Fund, the government aims to shield businesses and households from sudden increases that could impact economic activity.
Fuel remains a critical input for Namibia’s economy, affecting sectors ranging from transport and logistics to agriculture and manufacturing. Stability in pump prices is therefore seen as an important measure to support economic planning and maintain affordability for consumers and businesses alike.
