Ministry Invites Private Medical Officers to Volunteer at Katutura Health Centre

Ministry Invites Private Medical Officers to Volunteer at Katutura Health Centre. The Ministry of Health and Social Services has issued an official Expression of Interest, calling on registered Medical Officers in the private sector to volunteer their expertise and services at Katutura Health Centre on a pro bono basis.

This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen public healthcare delivery and increase access to medical services in one of Windhoek’s busiest health facilities. By inviting private practitioners to collaborate, the Ministry aims to enhance patient care while promoting public-private sector cooperation in healthcare.

The Ministry is encouraging qualified medical professionals who are passionate about community service and healthcare access to express their interest in joining the Katutura Health Centre team. Participating doctors will provide clinical services alongside existing public healthcare staff, helping to ease the workload and reduce waiting times for patients.

While the call is specifically for pro bono participation, it reflects a broader commitment to inclusive healthcare and collaborative solutions to address systemic capacity challenges.

Healthcare remains a national priority, and initiatives such as this highlight the role of voluntary medical support in strengthening public health institutions. The Ministry has assured that all expressions of interest will be reviewed, and participants will be formally integrated into the health centre’s operational framework in line with existing clinical protocols and governance standards.

Medical Officers interested in contributing to this national effort are encouraged to contact the Ministry directly for further information on the application process and terms of engagement.
