Keetmanshoop Hosts 6th Annual Nama Cultural Festival: A Celebration of Identity and Unity. Keetmanshoop came alive as the 6th Annual Nama Cultural Festival took center stage from 29 May to 1 June 2025. The festival brought together communities from across Namibia in a colourful celebration of Nama heritage, language, and tradition.

Held under the theme ǀGui!nâxasib, aiǃgûs tsî ǀOmkhâis !oa, which encourages cultural pride and community solidarity, the event highlighted traditional music, dance, attire, food, and storytelling passed down through generations.

The festival grounds were filled with vibrant performances that showcased the rhythm and richness of Nama customs. From traditional dances performed by community groups to live music that echoed deep ancestral roots, each moment served as a reminder of the value of cultural preservation in modern times.

Visitors to Keetmanshoop had the opportunity to engage with elders, artisans, and cultural ambassadors who shared the significance of the Nama language and its role in shaping identity. Local vendors and craftspeople also displayed handmade items, offering festival-goers a glimpse into Nama craftsmanship.
