Kavango East Governor Praises NFCPT’s Role in Education Support. The Namibia Fish Consumption Promotion Trust (NFCPT) recently welcomed Kavango East Governor, Hon. Julius Hambyuka, to its Head Office in Walvis Bay during a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening collaboration and familiarizing himself with the Trust’s operations.

The visit follows the successful National Fish Consumption Day (NFCD) Gala Dinner held in Rundu in October 2025, where N$353,900.00 was raised in support of the region’s education sector. The funds are earmarked to address pressing challenges in schools, particularly shortages in infrastructure and furniture that directly impact learners and teachers.

Governor Hambyuka commended NFCPT for its efforts in tackling these issues, noting that the Trust’s initiatives are making a tangible difference in the education sector. He emphasized the importance of continued partnerships between government, communities, and organizations like NFCPT to ensure that learners have the resources they need to succeed.

NFCPT Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Victor Pea, reaffirmed the Trust’s commitment to supporting education through its annual NFCD Corporate Social Investment initiative. He highlighted that the Trust remains dedicated to using its platform to mobilize resources and contribute to the improvement of learning environments across Namibia.

Expressing gratitude for NFCPT’s contributions, Hambyuka pledged his continued support and confirmed his attendance at the next NFCD event, scheduled to take place in the Ohangwena Region. His participation underscores the importance of regional leadership in advancing educational development and ensuring that initiatives like NFCD remain impactful.

The visit not only strengthened ties between the Governor’s office and NFCPT but also reinforced the Trust’s role as a key partner in promoting education and community development through innovative approaches to fish consumption and resource mobilization.
