Heavy Rains Cause Power Outages in Kalkrand Area, NamPower Responds. NamPower has confirmed ongoing power supply interruptions affecting the Kalkrand 33kV reticulations, which began on 6 April 2025. The utility company attributes the outage to damage sustained by power lines during recent extreme weather conditions in the region.
According to a public notice issued by NamPower’s Corporate Communication Section, several poles along the affected power lines were broken due to the heavy rainfall. The adverse weather has significantly impacted the terrain in the delivery zones, making access to the damaged areas difficult and delaying the restoration process.
NamPower emphasized that its teams are actively working on the ground to resolve the issue and are exploring alternative routes to restore power as efficiently as possible. Residents and businesses in Kalkrand and surrounding areas are urged to exercise patience while the restoration efforts continue.
In the interest of public safety, the utility has cautioned residents to treat all power lines and electrical points as “live” at all times during outages, as power restoration may occur without prior notice.
