Bank of Namibia to Launch Commemorative Banknote Honoring Dr. Hage Gottfried Geingob. The Bank of Namibia has announced the release of a commemorative banknote dedicated to the late former President of Namibia, Dr. Hage Gottfried Geingob. This special note honors his legacy, leadership, and significant contributions to the nation.
According to the Governor of the Bank of Namibia, Johannes !Gawaxab, the creation of this commemorative note is in line with the Bank of Namibia Act 2020, which grants the institution the authority to issue legal tender, including notes and coins that celebrate important historical milestones and figures.
“The Dr. Hage G. Geingob Commemorative Banknote has been thoughtfully designed to pay tribute to his unwavering commitment to peace, inclusivity, and resilience. It not only highlights his extraordinary achievements but also symbolizes Namibia’s progress under his visionary leadership. This banknote will serve as a source of national pride, an educational resource for future generations, and a lasting reminder of the values he upheld,” said !Gawaxab.
