Vehaka Tjimune Appointed CEO of Namibia’s Livestock and Livestock Products BBoard. The Livestock and Livestock Products Board of Namibia (LLPBN) has appointed Vehaka Tjimune as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 September 2026.
Tjimune brings more than 37 years of experience in Namibia’s agricultural sector and the wider Southern African Development Community (SADC) region to the position.
According to the announcement, his professional background includes previous roles with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Meatco and the Namibia National Farmers Union (NNFU).
His appointment places an experienced agricultural sector professional at the helm of the LLPBN, which operates within Namibia’s livestock and livestock products sector.
The LLPBN’s announcement did not provide further details about Tjimune’s responsibilities in the new position or outline specific priorities for his tenure.
Tjimune’s more than three decades of experience span agricultural work in Namibia and the broader SADC region. His previous association with GIZ, Meatco and the NNFU forms part of the professional experience he brings to the board.
The appointment takes effect from Tuesday, 1 September 2026.
The livestock sector is an important part of Namibia’s agricultural landscape, with livestock production and livestock products forming part of the country’s agricultural activities. However, the announcement of Tjimune’s appointment did not provide new figures or projections regarding the sector.
The LLPBN confirmed the appointment as part of its latest leadership announcement, with the board welcoming Tjimune to the CEO position.
His appointment comes as Namibia’s agricultural sector continues to involve a range of stakeholders, including farmers, industry organisations, government institutions and businesses involved in livestock and livestock products.
For the LLPBN, the change in leadership marks the beginning of Tjimune’s tenure as CEO from 1 September.
