Windhoek Entrepreneurship Programme Builds Practical Business SSkills. The City of Windhoek has launched a five day entrepreneurship training initiative aimed at supporting aspiring business owners through practical skills development. The programme is being delivered from 09 to 13 February 2026 through the municipality’s Economic Development Division and focuses on equipping participants with applied knowledge for starting and managing enterprises.

Over five days participants are receiving instruction in financial planning marketing and business planning costing of goods and services capital investment sourcing funding and day to day business operations. Sessions include interactive discussions group collaboration and practical exercises designed to help participants develop structured and bankable business plans based on their own ideas.

For many young residents entrepreneurship represents an opportunity to pursue independence and economic participation within their communities. One participant described the training as a game changer highlighting its focus on the key components required to build a profitable and sustainable business.

Organisers say the programme is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen local economic participation by equipping residents with practical tools and knowledge for enterprise development. The initiative forms part of the Start Your Business training framework developed by the International Labour Organization.

The programme is implemented locally to support skills development and encourage enterprise creation within the urban economy. Officials say structured training opportunities such as this provide participants with guidance on planning financing and managing business activities in a formal environment.

By combining technical instruction with practical application the sessions aim to support individuals seeking to transform ideas into operational ventures. Participants complete the programme with documented business plans prepared.
