MTC Care and Rössing Foundation Donate Wheelchairs to Support Mobility

MTC Care and Rössing Foundation Donate Wheelchairs to Support Mobility. MTC Care, in collaboration with the Rössing Foundation, has donated 10 wheelchairs valued at N$80,000 to the National Disability Council of Namibia (NDCN). The donation is aimed at improving mobility and promoting greater independence among persons with disabilities.

The contribution forms part of ongoing efforts to support social causes and strengthen assistance to vulnerable communities. According to MTC, the initiative was made possible through MTC Care, an employee-driven programme in which staff members make monthly contributions towards community-focused projects.

In a media statement, MTC said the partnership with the Rössing Foundation reflects a shared commitment to making a practical difference in the lives of people who require mobility support. The donated wheelchairs are expected to assist beneficiaries by enhancing access to daily activities and services.

The National Disability Council of Namibia works to advocate for the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities, and the donation is set to support its mandate by addressing mobility needs. Access to assistive devices such as wheelchairs can play a critical role in enabling individuals to participate more fully in their communities.

MTC Care has previously supported various social initiatives through contributions from its employees. The programme allows staff members to collectively fund projects that respond to identified needs across the country.

The Rössing Foundation, which partnered in this initiative, has also been involved in community development efforts in Namibia. Together, the two organisations said they aim to ensure that their support reaches those who need it most.

The donation highlights the role of corporate and employee-led initiatives in complementing broader efforts to improve living conditions and access to essential support services for persons with disabilities in Namibia.
