Deputy Minister Dino Ballotti Engages Learners During Visit to Centaurus Secondary School

Deputy Minister Dino Ballotti Engages Learners During Visit to Centaurus Secondary School. Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Environment, Youth and Sports Affairs and Culture (MEIYSAC), Hon. Dino Ballotti, today visited Centaurus Secondary School as part of ongoing school engagement initiatives aimed at interacting directly with learners and educators.

During the visit, Hon. Ballotti addressed learners, focusing on the importance of education and the need for young people to remain committed to their academic journeys. He encouraged learners to stay focused on their studies and to recognise education as a foundation for personal development and future opportunities.

The engagement formed part of the ministry’s broader efforts to connect with learners at school level and to reinforce positive attitudes towards learning. The Deputy Minister also interacted with school management during the visit, providing an opportunity for direct engagement between government leadership and education stakeholders.

According to MEIYSAC, the school visit is part of a series of engagements planned for the coming days. Hon. Ballotti is expected to continue conducting unannounced visits to various schools, where he will engage with learners and school management teams.

These visits are intended to allow the ministry to observe learning environments firsthand and to assess school readiness. Through these engagements, the Deputy Minister aims to gain insights into the conditions under which teaching and learning are taking place, while also offering encouragement and support to both learners and educators.

The ministry has indicated that such interactions are important in strengthening relationships between government and schools, while also ensuring that the voices and experiences of learners and educators are heard at policy level.

Hon. Ballotti’s visit to Centaurus Secondary School follows a series of school engagements undertaken by the ministry in recent months, reflecting an ongoing focus on youth development and education.

MEIYSAC said the Deputy Minister’s continued outreach to schools underscores government’s commitment to engaging young people directly and supporting an education system that promotes discipline, focus and academic achievement among learners across the country.
