NAMCOL Celebrates 24th Graduation Ceremony Amid Economic Uncertainty

NAMCOL Celebrates 24th Graduation Ceremony Amid Economic Uncertainty. The Namibian College of Open Learning (NAMCOL) held its 24th Graduation Ceremony for Higher Education and TVET Programmes under the theme “Navigating Economic Uncertainty in a Changing World.” The event marked a major milestone for the Class of 2024, as graduates were honored for their achievements through open and distance learning.

In his keynote address, NAMCOL Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ngepathimo Kadhila, reminded attendees that the institution’s reputation as “The People’s College” is not symbolic, but rooted in action and service. He emphasized that open and distance learning is not a lesser option but one that demands discipline, resilience, and determination.

Dr. Kadhila highlighted that graduation extends beyond individual accomplishment. “This is a ripple of transformation across families, communities, the economy, and the nation,” he said. He urged graduates to embrace their roles as ambassadors of excellence, carrying Namibia’s vision forward in a rapidly changing global environment.

The ceremony also showcased NAMCOL’s continued evolution, with its transition into an Open University signaling new opportunities for learners nationwide. This move is expected to broaden access to higher education, strengthening Namibia’s capacity to meet the demands of a competitive and uncertain economy.

Reaffirming the institution’s commitment, Dr. Kadhila underscored NAMCOL’s guiding promise: “Access with Success.” The message reflects the college’s focus on turning opportunities into empowerment, and enrolment into meaningful, lifelong impact.

The 2025 Spring Graduation not only celebrated academic achievements but also reinforced NAMCOL’s role as a key player in Namibia’s educational landscape, preparing graduates to thrive in challenging times while contributing to the nation’s growth.
