Namibia and European Union Launch 2025 Partnership Dialogue in Windhoek. The 2025 Namibia-European Union (EU) Partnership Dialogue officially opened in Windhoek on Monday, 1st September 2025. The meeting was co-chaired by Honourable Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, Namibia’s Minister of International Relations and Trade, and H.E. Ana Beatriz Martins, Ambassador of the European Union to Namibia.
The Partnership Dialogue is positioned as a key platform for strengthening bilateral ties, reinforcing existing agreements, and deepening cooperation across multiple areas of shared interest. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to advancing common goals that support sustainable development, trade, and long-term collaboration.
In her opening remarks, Honourable Ashipala-Musavyi highlighted the importance of the discussions, noting that the Dialogue would cover a wide range of mutual priorities. She emphasized that the talks provide an opportunity for meaningful engagement on Namibia’s Vision 2030, the Sixth National Development Plan (NDP6), and the EU’s Global Gateway Initiative.
EU Ambassador Ana Beatriz Martins commended Namibia for the ambition reflected in its Sixth National Development Plan. She stressed that the EU and its member states, working together as Team Europe, share closely aligned priorities with Namibia. Martins further underlined the EU’s commitment to supporting opportunities for Namibian youth while affirming the EU’s readiness to deepen political cooperation on regional and global issues.
The meeting brought together senior representatives from Namibian ministries, offices, and agencies, alongside the EU Delegation and member states. The Dialogue is expected to provide a structured platform for continued engagement, ensuring that Namibia and the EU remain aligned in addressing shared challenges and harnessing opportunities for mutual benefit.
