Brave Warriors Gala Raises Nearly N$1 Million in Support of World Cup Dream. Namibia’s hopes of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup received a major boost this week as the Brave Warriors Fundraising Gala Dinner raised a total of N$978,300.05 in pledges. The event, held at the Mövenpick Hotel in Windhoek, attracted support from companies, sports figures, and individuals committed to backing the national team in their final four qualifying matches.
The pledged funds will be used to increase player match bonuses and help cover operational expenses as the Brave Warriors push to make history. The N$978k total excludes proceeds from ticket and table sales, which are yet to be announced.
Among the biggest pledges were N$120,000 from JSB Betting, N$100,000 each from PstBet and Namibian Breweries, and N$50,000 each from Classic Sports Betting and NFA President Robert Shimooshili. Other notable contributors included Ongos FC, former coach Ricardo Mannetti, and boxing promoter Imms Moses.
President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, who served as keynote speaker, personally pledged N$5,000. In her address, she called for national unity behind the team and announced that 2025 will mark the final year Namibia hosts home fixtures abroad. She confirmed that the Ministry of Sport has been tasked with completing stadium renovations within the next year.
Contributions ranged from cash to in-kind services, such as Garren Smith’s pledge of N$10,000 worth of rehabilitation services for injured players.
