Swakopmund’s Vineta Stadium to Host AUSC Region 5 Youth Athletics from July 7–10. Vineta Stadium in Swakopmund is set to come alive with youthful energy and continental pride as it hosts the AUSC Region 5 Youth Athletics Championships from July 7 to July 10, 2025. The event will welcome athletes from 10 Southern African countries, showcasing emerging talent across track and field disciplines.

Participating nations include Namibia (host), Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Malawi, Lesotho, Angola, Eswatini, and Mozambique. In a commendable show of inclusivity, the competition will also feature events for Para athletes and Special Olympics participants, reinforcing the region’s commitment to diversity in sport.

The four-day championship promises to be a high-energy showcase of speed, strength, and determination from some of the region’s most promising young athletes. Events will include a full range of sprint, middle-distance, relay, and field competitions.

Organisers have confirmed that entrance is free, inviting the public, families, schools, and sports enthusiasts to come out in numbers and support the young competitors.
