Empowering Youth Officers: Ministry Hosts Masterclass in Sports Development

Empowering Youth Officers: Ministry Hosts Masterclass in Sports Development. The Ministry of Sport, Youth, and National Service has launched an intensive training workshop aimed at enhancing the skills of youth officers in sports development. The five-day program, titled “Masterclass Sports Development Ecosystem Training,” is facilitated by Sport Ecosystems Development and runs from 24 to 28 February 2025.

The workshop is designed to equip youth officers with the knowledge and strategies necessary to foster a thriving sports ecosystem in Namibia. By strengthening the link between grassroots initiatives and professional development, the ministry aims to create a sustainable pipeline for sporting talent and opportunities within the country.

A key focus of the training is capacity building—ensuring that youth officers are well-versed in the principles of sports management, community engagement, and policy implementation. The program also highlights the role of sports in youth empowerment, emphasizing its potential to promote social cohesion, physical well-being, and career opportunities.

Officials from the ministry have expressed their commitment to investing in the professional growth of youth officers, recognizing them as critical drivers of sports development in local communities. The initiative aligns with broader national objectives of strengthening the sports sector as a tool for economic and social progress.

Participants will engage in a series of workshops, discussions, and practical exercises to enhance their understanding of the sports ecosystem and its role in national development. The training is expected to not only refine their expertise but also encourage innovative approaches to sports administration.
