Zambia Dominates SAIRAG 2026 as Namibia Hosts Regional Revenue Games. The Namibia Revenue Agency successfully hosted the 2026 Southern Africa Inter-Revenue Administration Games (SAIRAG), held from 3 to 5 April in Swakopmund.
The SAIRAG Games are a regional sporting event that brings together revenue authorities from across Southern Africa, using sport to promote cooperation, teamwork, and employee wellness among participating institutions.
This year’s edition featured teams from Zambia, Namibia, Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, and Eswatini. Zimbabwe was unable to fully participate after its team reportedly failed to arrive in time for the games.
Competition took place across multiple sporting codes, with results reflecting strong performances from several countries. Zambia emerged as the overall top-performing nation, securing first place in football, men’s and women’s 10km races, table tennis, chess, and women’s basketball. Namibia recorded victories in netball, women’s volleyball, and tug of war, while Angola claimed the top spot in men’s basketball.
Other results saw Lesotho take first place in darts, and Eswatini secure victory in pool. Zambia also finished first in men’s volleyball, with Lesotho and Namibia placing second and third respectively. In women’s volleyball, Namibia led the standings, followed by Zambia and Botswana.
Special recognition awards were also presented, with Zambia named both the Overall Best Country and the Most Cheerful Country of the tournament.
The games concluded with displays of sportsmanship and competitive spirit across all participating teams. Organisers highlighted the role of the event in strengthening regional ties among revenue agencies while encouraging a culture of wellness through sport.
The next edition of the SAIRAG Games is scheduled to take place in Eswatini in 2027.
